About This Station
The station became active during August, 2009 and the web site went online on September 5, 2009. Both are privately owned.. The station is powered by a Davis Vantage Pro Plus. Data are collected every 60 seconds by Weather Display software and various data are updated to the the site from every 1 to 5 minutes.
The station includes an anemometer for wind speed and direction, a rain gauge, a thermo-hydro sensor, a lightnng sensor, and both solar and UV sensors situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.
The station is located west of Kissimmee, in Osceola County, approximately one half mile off highway 192, also known as Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, and less than one quarter mile off Highway 535. We are close enough to Walt Disney World that many of the homes in our commuhnity are vacation lease homes used by visitors who prefer a home for their stay rather than a hotel, and we hear the EPCOT fireworks every night from inside our home.
If you are a visitor to the Walt Disney World or Sea World areas, or plan to be in the near future, please see our Disney tab for more information.
About This Website
This site provides a combination of real-time information as reported by on-site sensors, and information provided by external sources. It was intended to be a one-stop tool for its owner. Though our original purpose was to make our personal hurricane preparation and tracking (three over the roof in 2004) easier and more efficient, we realize others may find our site useful, too.
The owner is not a programmer. Without the continuing work of others this site would not be possible.
The site is a template design by CarterLake.org with PHP conversion by Saratoga-Weather.org.
Thank you, Kevin Reed, at TNET Weather, for the original Carterlake templates, and the design for the common website PHP management.
Thank you also, Mike Challis, of Long Beach WA, and Ken True, of Saratoga-Weather.org, for the AJAX conditions display, dashboard and integration of the TNET Weather common PHP site design for this site.
The template is originally based on Designs by Haran.
